2025 march

Dear Community member, what a month it has been! New partnerships, the devcon (NS-con) , a new course in Czech and more.

Partnerships

As a university spin-off, NSX has always chosen to work closely with partners. In this way, the various partners gain access to expertise, we expand each other's network and strengthen each other's operational and commercial strength. In this context, in addition to the partnerships with CGI at Rijkswaterstaat and Delaware at Synergrid/Fuvius, we recently concluded two new partnership agreements.

Since 2017, NSX has been working with TMC Technology & Engineering on HR. We will deepen this collaboration from this year onwards by also working together in the search for projects. Normalized Systems offers our mutual customers a range of opportunities to strengthen themselves through innovation. TMC and NSX want to have more impact together, and we are both convinced that innovation requires engineers and engineering. With this in mind, both parties have signed an MoU in which they propose a strategic collaboration for at least six years, and declare that they want to go all out together to realize a “paradigm shift” in the IT landscape.

We have also been able to build a good relationship with Deloitte in recent months. After all, Deloitte is looking for an approach to realize customized and innovative projects in addition to advice on digitalization and supporting package implementations. Deloitte Belgium and NSX have therefore joined forces in a sustainable alliance, in which we will develop and provide an offer for large organizations in which Deloitte will provide guidance to the customers and NSX will be responsible for the software engineering.

DevCon CCNS

Inside NS-Con

On March 12th, the Dutch Tax Administration (DTA) hosted an exciting developers' conference, welcoming NS-developers, architects and enthusiasts to a fun location in Utrecht, Netherlands. With over a hundred attendees, the event was buzzing with ideas, knowledge-sharing and networking possibilities, all centered around our ever evolving Normalized Systems Theory.

The conference was packed with insightful sessions tailored to different audiences. In the track for architects and managers, attendees explored the strategic role of NS-development in large-scale organizations. Thought-provoking presentations and interviews shed light on how NS-development integrates into enterprise software, offering valuable perspectives on the future of large infrastructures.

For developers, the conference was a deep dive into different recent projects. One of the highlights was the AI-powered tool designed to assess whether custom code aligns with NS-theorems. Another fascinating session explored how expanders can integrate a vast array of services, exemplified by the Helicus case. Additionally, discussions on system testing and migration strategies provided insights for tackling everyday challenges in business software.

Much like this NS-community newsletter, NS-DevCon was designed to bring passionate people together, to inspire each other and maybe spark future collaborations. Judging by the enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day, it's safe to say the event delivered on its promise, strengthening the NS-community one conversation at a time.

CTU Prague

NS Lab

This March, the Normalized Systems Laboratory proudly supports the NI-NSS (Normalized Software System) course, with 89 students enrolled. Professors Jan Verelst and Herwig Mannaert will join us for a special presentation and Q&A session, offering valuable insights into NS theory and practice. We'll also showcase a short practical demo on how Micro Radiant and Expanders can be leveraged for development. Interested students will have the opportunity to continue their journey with us—whether through a diploma thesis or an engaging project.
